Tan JMP head

Hi All,

New guy here... posted this is amp section and got no responces so ill try here.

I picked up a Tan/Fawn color JMP head. The back has MK II in bold block letters. The face has 4 input jacks, 2 volumes, B, M, T, and Presence. The rear of the head has a hand written label for Model which reads 1187 as the model number. There is another label which reads Tested in Jan 1980.

My question is do you know what I have? Is it actually a 1987 JMP? I'm confused by the 1187 number. I'll post the S/N later im at work and the heads at home. Also was the Tan/Fawn color tolex rare or a limited edition? Does the color fall into the time period for the test label?

Thanks guys for any help you can provide.

Re: Tan JMP head

You have a model 1987 50 watt non-master-volume head from the year 1980.
The colour is limited edition, and falls into the time period (late 70s to 1981)

Excellent amp you have there
