I got my time machine ready...

I was just wondering how much money I am going to have to bring back to the year 1972 to buy a plexi and a couple metal faces?

You're WAY better off buying 1950's Les Pauls which were still $500 or less in 1972.

Agreed, I would buy a few '59 Bursts. I'd be a millionaire today. Sell one, you could buy 8-10 plexis.

Early 60's Vox Ac30 was $100 in '72

Re: I got my time machine ready...

I would also pick up just a few '59 L.P. Standards for the old retirement fund. Heck, when I started playing in '76 they were probably still relatively affordable.

Also, since we're going back to '72 I would pick up my '68 GTO that I ended up buying in '80. Perhaps in '72 I still could have prevented the rust around the rear wheel openings...

Re: I got my time machine ready...

Take me with you, after I rack up a few Marshall's I'm going to try to bang Lily Munster when she was in her prime!

Let's get one of those TV Yellow Les Pauls and sell them to some jerk for $40,000 before the economy takes a shit.

Hey! I'm going too. And when I sell a few of those LP's, I'll buy out all the good tube manufacurers and corner the market! Tubes are on me fellas!

How about a 61 AC30 Tan, for 95GBP in 2002?

Re: I got my time machine ready...

Returned from the first trip told him I would be back Saturday.

Here were my findings:

1968 Jazzmaster (x2)
1967 Strat
1972 Strat (x3)
1954 Strat!
Marshall Plexi
Marshall Metalface
Competition Mustang

...long story short I took them all home.
