No, the 1959HW doesn't have an FX loop, although I'm afraid I can't tell you what the difference is sound-wise as I've never played either...

Re: marshall 1959HW have loop?

It looks like Musician's Friend have got that wrong, as they say there is an FX loop, but there definitely isn't, as in the manual on the marshall website it has a picture of the rear panel of the amp and there are no jacks for an FX loop.

Re: marshall 1959HW have loop?

The 1959HW is a replica of the old model with point to point wiring. It shouldn't have the FX loop, and if that's what you want look into all the replicas or the reissue. The 1959HW is for the classic player.

Re: marshall 1959HW have loop?

If you want the 1959HW, we can perform this mod for you. Our loops are tonally transparent and also feature a bypass switch to take it out of the signal path.

If you decide to go with the standard 1959 reissue instead that already has the loop, we also offer a Point 2 Point/transformer upgrade for these amps as well.

Let me know if there's any way I can be of help.

Re: marshall 1959HW have loop?

I know my 59 reissue does not have a loop....nor do i want one on it
i have never compared it to an original or HW so i can't say it sounds better or worse...but it sounds incredible to me
