"Vintage 100wt Marshall vs. Boutique Clones" semiar @ Dallas International Guitarfest

Just an FYI to all my freinds both in the Lone Star state and here @ the Marshall forum that I will be bringing my "Iconic Tones, Vintage 100wt Marshall vs. Boutique Clones" seminar to Dallas this year Dallas International Guitar Festival April 15-17. This started at the Nashville Amp Expo and was a big hit so myself and partner Gary Bohannon are taking it on the road and hope that all the Texas toneslinger's will enjoy hearing some stallar sounding old and new 100 watt amps at MAX volume, no attenuators! There will be modern versions by Wallace,Metropolus,Germino,Rheinhart, and Retro King going up against some stellar vintage versions w/basketweave cabs from 66'-73' in an all out, cage match of brown sound,wall-o-doom fury! Some old vintage 50's strats and Lesters will be on hand to pound out the jams through said amplificators and there is even talk of hooking THREE FULL STAX together for some real earwax melting pleasure in the grand finale!LOL! Hope to see a lot of the MF crowd there and please make yourself known to me if you are there because it is always nice to put faces with avatars ya know! Here is a link to some pics and info about the event and hope you can make it out! MetroAmp.com Forum • View topic - 100W Seminar @ Dallas Show vintage Marshall & Metropoulos

Maybe we should get all the Aussies here together and tour Australia with all our Marshalls.

My old friend Mr. Greg Martin stopped by on Sunday and let me play his 58' Lester through the pile! There definitey was some paint peeled in the back of the hall!LOL@!

I've played his plank before and yes it did sound great through some of those amps but I have to say I liked my Lester better.

Here are a couple of other pics from the show....

The guy standing next to Greg Martin is my best bud Jack Hamilton who manned all the speaker cable duty behind the wall. I couldn't have done it without him!

AUDIO from the "Vintage 100wt Marshall vs. Boutique Clones" semiar

Here are the audio tracks from my "work in progress" video which are all in sequence by year model and guitar. Go to SoundClick artist: Tommy Hatcher - page with MP3 music downloads and click on the "music" tab and run them down. Sorry for the delay and hope you enjoy this comparison of some really great sounding Marshalls and clones!

We have a once a year only Guitar Expo in Jan/Orlando hint hint..

Another thought on this is what about JTM45 clones.. Just because they warm up at a practical volume..

That just looks absolutely AWSOME! I wish something like this event was around in the late 80's when I lived in Dallas and used to jam at the Basement!

That looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

I love the picture of the back view of the amps!

I'm plugged into the Metro 67' clone on that pic and each amp was demo'd individually through mutiple cabs. I had a guy behind the wall plugging each one in at a time. Here's what they sounded like.....SoundClick artist: Tommy Hatcher - page with MP3 music downloads click on the "Music" tab.

Sounds great, the JTM 45/100 with a Les Paul does it for me.
