another newbie....

Hello....Greetings from France!
Always loved the sound of those Marshall amps since the first time I heard it
It was the sound that shaped my teenage years and still gives me energy when i need it....Amazing how just one chord can affect your whole day!
And of course a Marshall amp does it best!

you don't need a shrink when you own a Marshall !

Re: another newbie....

I have right now just one 9005 Marshall power amp with JJ EL34's....unfortunately as I travel quite much the only solution for me is racking. I'd love to get back to some triple stack some day soon when life will allow it!
As a tech I marvel at the building and design of those amps....but as a rocker I just love the SOUND!

Re: another newbie....

Welcome. I've had a 9005 for years, great power amp. If you run it hard, in a rack, I suggest you install a cooling fan, I installed 2 of them. I never understood why Marshall didn't put one in in the design stage, that thing gets HOT!!!

Re: another newbie....

Hi adwex !
Thank you for that advice! indeed it runs hot and my settings take it quite hot too....Interesting rig there....
I have an Ibanez RG 770, a Les Paul custom and a Strat HM, my favorite guitar is a Washburn N4....my other power amp is a ADA microtube 100, preamps both sides of the atlantic ADA MP1's. I have an intellifex and a lexicon G2 for effects...Morley wah pedals....spectraflex cables (not the baldee)
I have midi captors on some of my guitars and use an axxon converter to drive my synths....
Favorite artist : Andy Timmons....

Nice to meet you all!
