jcm 800 2210 reverb removal
I just bought a 1987 jcm800 model 2210 with brand new jj el34s in the power section. However, I still feel like this amp has no balls. I really want it to be big sounding, but I'm having trouble getting there. I feel like it is too quiet even. I though it i removed the reverb, it might help a little bit with this issue. Does anyone know if this is true, or not. Also, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well.

Re: jcm 800 2210 reverb removal
I felt my 2210 lacked some beef too. I had my tech replace the power transformer and caps along with some new tubes. It was a bit pricey but I am loving my newly modded amp, has more low end and punch now.

Out of a Diezel VH4, Dual Rectifier, Bogner Shiva, my JCM 800 2210 is the loudest Amp I have. In fact, perhaps ever owned. Currently I use a Marshall 1960BV, but have ran it through Marshall 1960A and Peavey XXX cabs. LOUD as hell. David EDIT: Spelling Last edited by NewReligion; 06-28-2012 at 03:27 PM. |
