jcm 800 2210 reverb removal

I just bought a 1987 jcm800 model 2210 with brand new jj el34s in the power section. However, I still feel like this amp has no balls. I really want it to be big sounding, but I'm having trouble getting there. I feel like it is too quiet even. I though it i removed the reverb, it might help a little bit with this issue. Does anyone know if this is true, or not. Also, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well.

You'll probably want to post this in 'The Workbench' section, then you'll get some replies.

I felt my 2210 lacked some beef too. I had my tech replace the power transformer and caps along with some new tubes. It was a bit pricey but I am loving my newly modded amp, has more low end and punch now.

Removing/disconecting the reverb will not make the amp louder. What kind of cab are you using.

Out of a Diezel VH4, Dual Rectifier, Bogner Shiva, my JCM 800 2210 is the loudest Amp I have. In fact, perhaps ever owned. Currently I use a Marshall 1960BV, but have ran it through Marshall 1960A and Peavey XXX cabs.

LOUD as hell.

David
