I'm new and a lucky SOB

Long time lurker just joined

I just wanted to let you know I have just got my amp (2502) back from the Marshall factory - they gave it a full service, replaced all pots, knobs, sockets and fitted new power valves.

All for 80 quid

but that's not the best thing

I've just been playing with the amp - and it sounds even better now it's been fettled and properly biased - it sounds even cleaner - and goes even dirtier when I turn it up to 20.

but that's not the best thing

the best thing is - the Marshall factory is across the road from my house
so I got a free tour

Re: I'm new and a lucky SOB

Welcome claret.

What is "fettled"?

Maybe I should get my amps fettled.

I would be a poor man (and probably divorced) if I lived across the street from Jim's house

Re: I'm new and a lucky SOB

Welcome from a fellow free tourist....had to drive 120 miles for mine though. Good job you took the tour while you were local. It's a long way to have your amp serviced now dude.
