Nebie here
Hello all, I too have been playing guitar for over 30 years and have always own Fenders twins. My son started playing drum and has been getting petty good so I bought him a better Kit, Tama. Well since I started playing more due to my son's interest in Music, I desided to try a Marshall. Wow!! So I bought a used 900. I must say I can now play heavy rock or Metal without distortion effects. Pure amp
. I do run my Lexicon delay through the effect input. Were the hell have I been all these years. I love my twin, but my 66 strat sound just as good and better with the preamp overdriving on 10 on the 900. I also bought a new ESP Metalica model so I can keep up with young ones. I can say I'm a convert.

Re: Nebie here
Welcome aboard mate
What model 900 did you get? Dual reverb 4100/4500? I used to love dining the pre amp on my old 4500 with my lespaul, great amps Congratulations Rock on Edit >>> for a little more oomph, if you aren't using any FX in the loop drop a patch lead in it

Yep you can tell by the serial number, does it have a bar code? if so the first 2 numbers indicates the year if I remeber correctly and the last 2 numbers indicate the month of manufacture And yes this is where Marshalls reign supreme, they have the ability to "cut through" the mix when playing with a band |

the place is flooded. Took the kids down to the local dam today as it was overflowing. Never seen so much water in my life. Worst floods in NSW's history. Good thing though, is my place may be waterfront soon

Re: Nebie here
Hi Danny and welcome.
I was in the same position as you: I.e. my children grew up and wanted to play - caused me to get back into it. It's good to hear that your 4100 compares well to your Fender Twin. I have never had a Fender Twin so I'm always wondering whether I've been missing out on something. But they are too expensive for me to just buy one to try out. I bought a 4100 from another member here a few weeks ago. I've been too busy to set it up yet... but any day now...
