Hey
Hey all, new here. I ran across this site while looking for some intel regarding my DSL 201. Pretty extensive stuff here. So much so, it prompted me to join the forum.
I've been playing for about 24 years, mostly rock and metal. I was in a couple of bands back in the 90's, but since '96 the demands of my career keep me from any band committments, so I satisfy the itch by jamming over backing tracks and doing a bit of recording, when time allows. Regarding Marshalls, in the past I've owned an Artist 30, a JMP-1/9005 rack set, and currently have a DSL 201 loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30. The DSL has a great tone, when it works. I found that the likely problem is that the bridge rectifier needs a heat sink: historiclespauls.com - piller.at MUSIC - Marshall DSL201/401 I guess I'll do that mod when I have time. The EL84s were replaced a while ago with GTs. I'll probably swap out the 12AX7s when I put in the heat sink. Anyone have any suggestions for V1 and 2 to give this little thing a little darker sound? Great forum here. Looking forward to hanging around a while. |
