Congrats! I really like how it looks, I am a fan of maple with white and a single bridge pickup! How does it sound?

Thanks..
It sounds pretty good. Considering is has the EVH pickup, it does sound very similar to eddie's guitar from VH 1. Since I'm playing through a JCM2000 and not a Plexi, it's not exact.

Hey,

That is absolutely stunning, looks a little like my Jackson that I modded, was a HSH in Amber sunburst, but modded it to a single humbucker in white. Love the look of a single pup guitar - good work fella.

Very nice work. Does she play as good as she looks? Did you do the finish or did it come that way?

Thank you.. I just added a string tree today on the headstock. The strings were coming out of the nut a little high, even with the staggered tuners.
It plays fairly good. I need to work on lowering the action a little. I have a mighty mite neck which is not the same quality (or price) as a warmoth. $150 vs $450. I think issue with action is around the non-recessed Floyd Rose. I have it lowered to where it is almost touching the body. The guitar cost me around $1,200 to build/assemble. The body was finished by Warmoth, and it is perfect...

For the action to be right with a non-recessed Floyd, there are two things you can do:

1) Route the neck pocket deeper (Probably not possible in your case)
2) Shim the neck so that it is slightly angled. You can shim the neck with a small piece of veneer, maybe 1/4" wide. You place it towards the end of the neck to give you a slight angle.

Usually, the neck height at the heel and neck pocket depth have to be calculated in terms of the bridge height. That's what you get with kit guitars. Not a big deal though. My 1987 Ibanez Jem needs a shim for the action to be where I want it. When I custom built mine, I made damn sure that the neck pocket and neck height were perfect. It actually came from the Factory with a shim!

Yeah, the neck pocket was angled from warmoth to match the non-recessed floyd. The strings are equal distance to the fret at the nut to the 22 fret. I just like a lower action then most people.

Re: Warmoth Soloist Completed Today

I love the maple neck with the white body. Reminds me of the Jake E Lee strat.

I usually setup my shredder guitars for just under 1/16" on the treble side, where the neck joins the body. That's too low for regular rock, funk & blues but it works great for metal and quick soloing. Its actually a little more than 3/32".

Maybe your problem is from the neck. Its it 1" total height at the heel (measure at the center of the neck, lengthwise), including the fretboard?

This is my main baby - I made this guitar in 2005:

I call her PowerSlave.

The neck is pretty nice for the cost. I paid $40 to get a minor fret finishing. The tops of the frets were good, the sides were a little rough (where they were cut off).
