GMW Guitar Works

I ordered another guitar from GMW Guitar Works...

I decided that for my birthday, I would treat myself to this guitar. I had been looking at it on the GMW site for some time, but didn't order because I wanted it a bit different. Then, I see that Lee is now offering Stainless Steel frets, so I called him and asked if he could redo the guitar w/ stainless steel and he said yes. Woo hoo-- in relatively short order I'll have the new addition.

Body: GMW CS / Swamp Ash
Body/Neck Binding: 5A flame maple, 22 frets, 25 1/2” scale, 6100 frets- Stainless Steel, satin finish, Au natural (no color) body binding
Hardware: Original Floyd Rose tremolo (recessed), Gotoh SG-36 gold
Headstock: GMW Millennium
Fingerboard: 3A flame maple

Just a sample of how they can react w/ one of my amps. That is actually my amp in the video, so for me-- that is a helpful clip. Mark Day-- the guy playing has several demos on youtube using different amps w/ that guitar. To get an idea of various sounds, check out some of his videos. The production quality is always decent.

Thanks Brah... I am taking tomorrow off from the shop, and cruising. Ya, I was talking to Lee this morning, and he was saying that he spent a small fortune trying to get the color captured right in the pics, but it just didn't. I am sure in person this thing is going to be SICK!

That IS the actual guitar, I am just having him redo the frets w/ stainless steel 6100's.

Re: GMW Guitar Works

I posted this yesterday, I guess it got deleted when they were doing their web maintenance?

Gorgeous looking guitar, congratulations and happy b-day.

I was checking out the GMW website and I didn't see the LP model that you have? Do you know if they still make it?

I really like GMW's guitars. The Neck thru, Floyd LP is a great guitar. Different scale length neck than the GMW strats-- which I LOVE too.

Re: GMW Guitar Works

Update:

Hey Zach:

Great speaking with you over the phone this weekend. As I mentioned over the phone, the stainless steel frets were to be installed either by today or tomorrow. So the frets are now in place, and I'll get started on the reapplication of the fretboard satin finish later tomorrow. As such, I'll have that work done by Friday so that while I'm away, Neal Moser's son can finish up the fretwork with the mill and dress. So things are moving right along.

Lee
