Orville
Just after a few opinions. I am selling a gibson standard because the cash would be handy and never really totally dug the finish and I can pick up a nice 95 white custom Orville. I have never had the chance to play one and its abit of a drive to check it out so was just wondering how they compare to the real thing in build and playbility?? If I get it I will put new pickups and possible wiring so thats not a issue.

Re: Orville
I'd be willing to bet you won't be able to tell much of a difference with a Gibson.
Might even be slightly better than a '95 Gibson LP...

Re: Orville
I have an Orville Custom. Maybe others know better, I cannot tell the difference between the Orville and a Gibson custom I had.
The built quality is just what you would expect from a Gibson. No cheap feel or anything like that they feel like the real deal because they ARE the real deal. Here is mine on stage. The one in the back

They made the Orville for 2 years before changing the name to Epiphone and splitting the line in to the open book domestic models and the export models(Elite/Elitists), but continued to build them all in the same factories, FujiGen en Terada. There is a hypothesis entertained by a happy few that Gibson dropped the whole Epihone Elitist line because they were simply too good. ![]() I know my Japanese girls are not going anywhere soon...

I'm a huge fan of Japanese guitars. Rarely have I played a bad one. The Japanese are a nation of people who take great pride in everything, that includes their guitars. That Black Custom looks great. Even from a distance. Looks just like a Gibson.

Re: Orville
Thanks bro. That thing looks like a Gibson and it plays like one. It's a fine guitar.
