I have two possible necks but haven't decided which one I'm going to use yet. One is a MIM neck with maple fretboard, the other is a late 80's Korean Squier with a rosewood board (don't laugh - those early Korean necks were great). I'll try both necks over a period of time and see which one I like best.

I haven't decided on pickups yet - a couple of SD Invaders is tempting, but I already have a guitar with one in the bridge so feel that I should try something else.

Any suggestions?

I haven't decided yet, but there's two votes here for the Screamin' Demon, so maybe I'll take a look at thoses. I find that the problem with selecting pickups is that you're not completely sure how it's going to sound in your guitar, until you try it in you guitar.

Re: New guitar body -

Thats true, you got to keep in mind the screaming demon is not a high output bucker. Less then a Jeff Beck model SH4. But it has some nice growling mids in it. I liked it when i played it. I played it in a charvel So cal so also maple neck.
