I'm with Grunch on this one...I like the classic colors the best. The Pelham blue doesn't do much for me personally. You can't beat a custom though!

While it's not in my top 3, I wanna give the Silverburst and honorable mention.

Re: What a nice looking Les Paul. What are some of your favorite Les Paul finishes?

I've always liked the old bursts. I had a tobacco sunburst.
The Les Paul I didn't buy, but should have in the 80's, had the most unique finish. I don't know what they called it. Midnight Blue Lightnng or something like that. Reminded me of Frampton's...but different. It was a dark blue cloudy finish and looked like it had lightning running through the finish. I've never seen another one like it again.

Heritage Cherry / GoldTop / Ebony (in that order) ... the rest I'm kind of ho-hum about.

Least favorite = SilverBurst

Re: What a nice looking Les Paul. What are some of your favorite Les Paul finishes?

I'm and Ebony and Alpine guy (ebony board mandatory)

That said, I can appreciate someone else's burst with a rosewood board. If I set out to make my own style (can we say "delusional sig-series anticipation"?) mine would be a deep green plaintop or dark green burst with ebony board.

Re: What a nice looking Les Paul. What are some of your favorite Les Paul finishes?

Lightburst (got it)
Tabacco burst (GASing for, can't afford it!)
Wine red (circa 1990/1) wannit, can't afford it!

Actually writing it all down like this is kinda therapeutic. All of a sudden realise how lucky i am to have one of my dream guitars, feel like i shouldn't be greedy.

Thanks guys, the GASing's done for now so credit card and grief from the missus saved, for now!

It seems like about every 10 years Gibson makes a few different wine colored finishes and trots 'em out there...
I got one in a dark dark wine a long time ago - it looks black until direct light hits it

My wish list includes the 50's model TV yellow
and a Mick Ronson inspired all black except for the top kinda thing

I'll upset a lot of people with this but DJ Ashba's Tim Burton inspired Lester on the left here.

Re: What a nice looking Les Paul. What are some of your favorite Les Paul finishes?

Hey Quasar-Kid, I know what you mean. I saw a couple of 70's built ones and they were quite light in colour compared to the 90's ones. Not sure if they'd fade but i like the fact the 90's ones look so dark at first until under lights, kinda gives a hidden depth feeling.....

However...I've been chubbin' for one of these babies since they came out.

The Lou Pallo signature LP. P90 in the neck, Burstbucker in the bridge, gorgeous black top and a light brown back. What's not to love?

Oops...I have that funny feeling in my shorts again...
