Re: Poll: Metallers: Jackson vs. Ibanez

That's a tough one. The only ESP guitars I like are the Eclipse models. To me, they're a heavy competitor, and I absolutely love Eclipse guitars.

But I'm an advocate of Jackson guitars, I just love them. The next guitar I'm buying is either an ESP Eclipse or a Gibson Les Paul (though it's leaning more towards an Eclipse because they're cheaper and have a cooler headstock). Once I've bought that, I'm going to stick buying Jacksons. I want another Rhoada and a Dinky or two. Before I hit 30 (which is in like, 12 years), I'd also like something from their custom shop.

So yeah, Jackson's all the way. Jackson's with Seymour Duncans, not EMG's!

I'd vote Ibanez. I've got 22 of them so I'm a bit biased...

22 Ibanez's wtf!, Ive got 2 anRG7420 and a sixer RG, not sure what model, looking at a 7620 for a backup, but hardly ever see used ones in New Zealand. Anyway, Ive owned several jacksons and Ibanez, still prefer all the Ib's ive owned, jacksons are cool but there sevens just dont feel as good as the RGs. I wont even mention ESP as they cost 3-4 grand over here so not really in the same league.

Jackson's or ESP's work well, but I'm sure Ibby's are just as good.

ESP all the way! Ofcourse I'm an Esp Eclipse II owner, so I would vote Esp.

I am also a Gibson Explorer fan! Jackson seems to have lost it's shine for me. Years ago I had a Jackson Soloist XL and it was pretty good but I haven't found another that I just had to have.

Ibanez

One of my favorite guitars that I've ever owned was an Ibanez RG570 (I think that's the model #). If I ever find the bastard that broke in to my car and stole it after band rehearsal I WILL kill them.

The King V, Robben Crosby was good. My 1991 RG550 is my axe of choice for metal.
