Damn, that's some tone. They sound like the evil stepchild of a Marshall Plexi and an Orange/Matamp.

Anyone have any experience with these? Anything to look out for when buying?

Anyone seen this? Looks very good for a practise amp, tempted by the head version and just a decent pair of headphones for late night practise - then whack it through a 4x12 for rehearsals and straight into the PA for gigging!

Help !!!!!! BOSS ME - 25 or Vox Tonelab ST

Hey Guys,

I have shortlisted 3 Multi Effects pedals, which are :-

DigiTech RP 255
Vox ToneLab ST
Boss ME 25

These pedals are within my budget and It would be difficult for me to extend my budget for anything else.

Hence would like to know, how these 3 sound. I had a chance to play all 3 of them, Didn't have the chance to A/B them, however I played them separately at different stores, as no one store had all 3 of them available.

I liked the Classic tones on the Tonelab, However I loved the effects offered on BOSS ME-25, I did like some of the tones on the Digitech, However the Overall Build of that pedal isnt that great, Looks really fragile. The other 2 have decent build quality.

I have heard that Boss is good for live use as well, I would mostly be recording, but will also use for live gigs.

I like the USB option, as that would let me record on my laptop, which is available on all the said ME Pedals.

Would like to know, which out of the 3 would you guys recommend and why...

Please help me make a decision on this purchase.

I own a Laney Cub 10, All tube amplifier, its a killer for the price I paid for it.
So the Preamp Tube on the Tonelab might not matter much, would it?

Or Maybe, Should I wait for sometime and save money for the Digidesign, Eleven Rack, How is it BTW?

Intermitting Problem with a Fender Hotrod Deluxe

Hello People need some advice!

I have a fender hotrod deluxe. About 4 months ago i noticed that after the amp had been on for a while it started to crackle slightly. After another week or so this noise got louder. I checked the bias of the power amps and then checked the 3 12ax7 preamps. When i replaced one of the preamps with a new spare i had it was fine. Jobs a gud un i thought?

About 2 months later this noise appears again. (this is amp is getting gigged/toured and used for recording/rehearsal i should point out) so i go through it again check power tubes, replace another prepamp tube and then bias and again the noise seemed to of stopped.

Then 2 weeks ago in the middle of a gig (fine in sound check?) the amp starts cutting out making the same noise but this time ALOT louder!

Now i dunno if it is the preamps? I read somewhere there is a risistor in the circuit to the preamps which tends to go and sometimes effects the power to the premaps causing this intermitting?

any thoughts guys???

Hi guys im looking a buying a pod 2.0, i live in Australia and the pod is from the US, i got a roland micro cube a few years back from the US and had the same issue so i bought a AC/DC adapter that has a adjustable volts switch and came with a few different sized inserts and that did the trick, so would i be able to use it for the Pod 2.0. Thanks

At GC for $254. Nice little amp, but the tone isn't little, it's pretty loud actually.

It has the Palomino speaker, says Celestion on it. Is that the 70/80 speaker jsut labelled for the Palomino amps?

I just bought a Peavey Vypyr amp for practice on my lunch hour - when I cant play my Marshall of course. And it has a 3 ohm 8" speaker in it and I was wondering if there is a 3 ohm (10") speaker out there to upgrade with.. Your thoughts. :hmm:

I'm moving into a dorm-like apartment for college next week, so sadly I won't be able to bring along my JCM800 half-stack. I have an old Marshall G50r 50 watt solid state amp, but it sounds like complete crap. I'm a fan of all-tube gear when it comes to amps, so I'd like to know what others use for their low wattage tube amps. I'm not looking to spend a boatload, by the way.

I tried out an Ibanez amp the other week, a TSA15. It's a 15 watter running on 6V6 tubes with a built-in tubescreamer as the crunch channel. The stack runs for about $500 and the head alone for even less. I almost considered buying the thing right there but I decided to wait and see if there are comparable or better amps for a similar price.

Anybody have a soldano?
