Suggestions for a guitar, heavy rock, wild tremolo dive bombs?

Any one out there have a suggestion for a decent guitar, under 600.00. It should be strat/ ibanex rg/ jackson type body, a reliable tremolo for dive bomb whammy action, a humbucker at the bridge, hsh or hss ok. I like shark tooth inlays in the neck. It needs to stay in tune.

If you have a suggestion please be specific with the model and make and maybe a general street price. Please dont say buy an rg or jackson-then I will have to know which rg or jackson as there is so many and I don't know all of the differences.

Have a lespaul custom and strat now, they are each very nice in their own way, just looking for something different and fun for wild tremolo and hard rock to metal sound.

Would you guys order a Les Paul without playing first?

I'm in the market for a Traditional in Desert Burst but finding one to actually play first is proving tricky.

I've been told that buying a Gibson these days sight unseen is a risky business.

What say ye?

Impossible question - Studio or V for the same price

Yes, impossible question to answer - but I'd love to hear what members say anyway....

Right now I can buy at auction a 1990 V or a 1999 Studio for the same price.

I will not be able to try these guitars before buying, have to take my best bet.

Of course I would prefer to try before buying but...
I'm in New Zealand. There are plenty of guitars for sale but you can't just walk into any shop and expect to see four or five used Vs or five used Studios to compare at one place.

The price is about USD $1200. Seems to me that's more than what you might pay in America for a used Gibson - but like I said, choice is a bit more limited here.

Also it seems that Studios are commonly available here but Vs are rare.

What do I want it for? Fat blusey sounds.
I have a nice strat-style guitar - with a humbucker at the bridge too - but I want other sounds, fat sounds with more sustain on the high notes and clearer harmonies on the low notes - you know, like a Gibson.

I don't play metal, but that doesn't mean a V is not the right guitar for what I want. I certainly don't think Vs are just for metal. I've heard people playing Vs with all kinds of not-metal sounds.

I love to hear from any members who have tried both Vs and Studios.

As you can see - looks like I'm kinda talking myself into preferring the V.
I can feel it calling me....

How to keep a acoustic looking brand new?

I recently purchased a new acoustic guitar from Musician's Friend and I really love it. I want to maintain this guitar so that it always look as good as new. Wondering what do you guys do to keep your guitar looking brand new as long as you have it. Is there a special kind of polish or something?

Please pass on some good tips from your personal experience.

It�s been for couple of months now I enjoy playing my Paul.
I find it noisy when not touching anything on the hardware.

The original pickups have been changed for Seymour Duncans.

Do you guys have something to recommand to solve this?

Adding floyd rose to a guitar?

I am looking forward to get a fender strat for christmas, but I would like to get a floyd rose with it too. And american fender strats with original floyd rose, are hard to find.

Is doing this safe? I have heard stories and stuff, but apperently the key part is getting a really good luthier to do it.

I would also like to get floyd rose on my Ibanez, and then im gonna be fully floyd rosed lol

This is my latest one. A 1971 Yamaha FG180 Red Label Nippon Gakki Guitar! Paid a whopping 70.00 for it at a friends pawn shop! This guitar sounds as good as any Martin I have ever had! Yes I love Pawn Shops! Been going to them since the late 70's. Anybody else find any "jewels" at a pawn shop?

Anyone a fan of V necked Guitars?

I played The 1950's Fender Classic series strat with the v neck, and I was florred on how comfortable it was for me. It was like I can anchor my hand better and play even smoother. I really liked the feeling the neck gave with vibrato on notes and bending. However chords it felt different for me.
Before this I stuck to all C shape necks, or U necks.

Anyone else like the feeling of an V neck?

Anyone have any opinions on D necks, how do they feel compared to an C or V neck?

Like Fenders? Like Marhshalls?

Out of curiosity, what is your opinion of the tuning mechanisms you've used over the years? I have my LP, which I have considered swapping the tuners for something better than the standard ones, but I never gave it much more thought on it past that. What do you gents think?
