Steel Panther

Okay, so a ticket has landed in my lap for Steel Panther at Nottingham Rock City tonight. Heard a fair bit about them from various friends who say they're awesome. Only heard a few bits here and there, but looking forward to it as I hear they put on quite a show.

Any other fans about?

Re: Steel Panther

i got the cd. "death to all but metal" is probably the best song on the cd, it has alot of cool riffs and the music sound good, but the lyrics kinda get old, the singer sings about the same thing in every song.

Re: Steel Panther

I really love their music, but I wish they would make some serious songs too because I agree that the lyrics get old and annoying sometimes. They were funny the first few times but now I am kind of tired of them.

Re: Steel Panther

Well saw 'em last night, they ruled all. Did all the stuff off 'Feel the Steel', then did some covers of Mr Brownstone and Here I go Again... by Whitesnake (which ended in a big medley and skit about how many bands have ripped off the Whitesnake riff... whats the 'I'm a joker, I'm a smoker, I'm a midnight toker' song? If you play the chorus of Here I go Again and then go straight into that, its exactly the same, try it!). They are fucking awesome musicians as well, the Guitarist Satchel did an amazing solo and medley of famous riffs (while playing the bass drum with his foot, awesome!).

It was a quality show, never seen so many chicks getting their tits out! Awright. 80's Hiar Metal just like Mom used to make. If you get the chance, get and see 'em. They won't win awards for originality or high brow musical content, but fuck me, they're roaring good fun!

Re: Steel Panther

I've seen this band about 20 times, they play here in Hollywood at the Key Club every monday but they only do 80's rock covers. They're more of a comedy show but its really fun to see them. They've been going for about 10 years and used to be called metal skool, then they got signed to Universal and changed the name to steel panther.

The joker by steve miller? From 1973? Here I go again 1982?

We cover the joker and Ive rewritten a lot of it to the point where I wish I could use it as a song its that good!
