Re: The first concert you attended
is this supposed to be a big concert thing? if yes....
Iron Maiden - Somewhere Back In Time World Tour - Canada, Quebec, Montreal - Parc Jean Dreapeau - 21/06/2008 Will never forget that day, Iron Maiden my favorite band of all fucking time, I breath maiden, I eat maiden, I dream with maiden atleast 3 times a week, Bruce Dickinson read my letter on his radio show, Im in an Iron Maiden tribute band, what else can a fan do to be a maiden fan? oh wait hmm, I learnt to play bass by watching Steve Harris, Learnt to play drums by playing stuff like nicko mcbrain, LOTS OF TRIPLETS!!, tought myself guitar by watching Dave Murray, and currently teaching myself how to sing like bruce ahahaha, im not too good at it, but you have to start at somepoint. You guys might be thinking "this kid probably sucks at all those instruments" and the truth is that I stick more to guitar more than anything else. And this post has the special number hahahaha. |

Re: The first concert you attended
Saw them first in 1968. One of the four times I did see them. A band that featured the original shredder...Alvin Lee and Ten Years After. One smoking, unbelievable guitarist (before he stoned himself out of the scene). Note: The second time I saw Ten Years After, ZZ Top was the opening act.
I saw many of the great (and not so famous) acts of the late 60's to present. Marty

Re: The first concert you attended
My first concert was Ted Nugent's Whiplash Bash on new years eve 93' at Cobo Hall in Detroit. It was awesome. He had a campfire on stage and he played Fred Bear acoustic sitting by the fire. He started the show sitting in a tree stand about 30ft in the air from a fake tree on stage then he shot a couple guitars with his bow and swung down on a rope. Ha Ha. He didn't get the nickname Motorcity Mad Man for nothing!

Re: The first concert you attended
My first real rock show:
Faith No More Metallica Guns n' Roses At RFK Stadium in D.C. in sometime around '88-'90. I'd been to countless bars/festivals/events and such with my Mom before that. Mostly Irish bands, but some of them were pretty rock-ish. I remember loving the electric guitar sound since I was probably only 3 or 4. I was also obsessed with hi-hats, I thought they looked so cool hopping up and down! My first word was actually "music." It'll probably be my last too.

Re: The first concert you attended
Aerosmith's permanent vacation tour. i think it was in 87-88. white lion opened up for them. till this day, that was the best concert i have ever went to. me and a friend had just enuff money to buy t-shirt and ticket. a group of guys behind us fogged one up after every song. after the concert, and after being around pot for the last 3hours. me and my friend had the munchies from hell, and maybe $1.50 betwen both of us. so we had to split a coke and hunnybunn on the ride home. i was 17 years old, broke and hungry, but i didnt care. because i had just seen AEROSMITH for the very first time.

My 1st concert was Aerosmith in 88' with Guns n Roses opening. That was a great time both bands put on a hell of a good show. Think I was 13 at the time.

Kiss with White Lion opening.Kiss was on the Crazy Nights tour in 87?The next concert I saw was Dio with Megadeth opening.I don't think So far So good had come out yet and the bass drums were still Peace Sells logo.Dio was on the dream evil tour with Craig Goldie.Megadeth was awesome and then I saw them 10 years later and they were horrible.
The actual first concert I saw was the Statler Brothers in 78 at the Lubbock county fair.Does that count?

Re: The first concert you attended
Emerson, Lake and Palmer Brain Salad Surgery 1973 Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim California. The second one was California Jam ( the first one, it was not called one or 1 at the time until Cal Jam 2 came along) what a zoo! I hate festival concerts like that. Just for the record my third was Aerosmith Toys in the Attic Tour. ( I actually went to see one of the opening acts for them which was Mahogany Rush) the good old days, how I wish I could relive them over again...more wisely this time around!
