Re: Best solo Competition poll, please vote!
i thought we had more people taking part in this?
anyway, just been listening to all the tracks, and surprisingly we haven't got real similar pieces being put together... everybody told a different story, which i think is great ![]() don't know who get's my vote though... some passages were really great, but as a whole it's difficult to choose

Re: Best solo Competition poll, please vote!
Wow, those are all so good that I am honestly having difficulty choosing just one (or 2, or 3 etc.) I will have to come back to this a few times to make a decision.

Re: Best solo Competition poll, please vote!
when you set up a poll, you can choose the option to see who votes on what... i'm not sure if ironmaidennutter did so... if not, we'll never know... it's just a matter of trust and honesty...

He didn't set up the poll that way, unfortunately.
Dooley gets my vote......you nailed everything down tight in that piece, both clean and dirty. Well done.

Re: Best solo Competition poll, please vote!

... i think your vibrato is too fast, which makes it a bit nervous sounding... like you were the whole night hooked onto a drip, filled with red bull or something i think a good vibrato is very important for long notes... i didn't like carnada's vibrato's either, as he was using the whammy bar all the time, which made the vibrato too deep and unnatural sounding to me... take an example on violin players, who are forced to vibrate using their fingers, which means the vibrato is done by their direct feel... you feel the tension of the string... a whammy bar doesn't provide that whammy bars are great for vibrating chords and deep dives, but i don't like them for single note vibrato... but that's just me ![]() also on the middle part you are getting more room, when the keyboard stop playing... listen closely to the drums too, as they open up for ya, to let her rip... instead, you are backing off, playing soft passages... when the keys are coming back there isn't that much room left anymore and then you decide to play balls out, using a wah... i think if you had put that passage into the middle part of the track, it would be more logical...

Re: Best solo Competition poll, please vote!
I get what you mean man
cheers, ill think about how i arrange it more next time. As for the Vibrato, i wasnt using a wammy if you thought i was lol... i just take strong influence from paul kossoff :P I was acturally quite spaced out when recording it.

Re: Best solo Competition poll, please vote!
Clearly Australian! That was beauty from beginning to end. Stripped down no frills talent! He was in the pocket the whole time!
I really like what Nutter did in the middle, where he went clean, I was waiting for someone to do that. nice job dude! Dooley, just killer soloing! very talented. Sorry I didn't get in on this. Honestly I didn't know. I have been really busy W my band and haven't been on as much as you can see. I would love to do one for fun if you wanna send me the file.

Re: Best solo Competition poll, please vote!
I voted Aussie, but they were all great. With that slow track, I felt very mellow indeed after listening to them. All were well recorded too.
