Are you al lefty like me???
hi all....
I am a lefty.... been playing for 20 years and throughout my guitar career i have pondered and fantasized about what it would be like to be a right handed guitarist and to have all the choices a righty has in guitars e.g. lots of them and varying colour options etc etc...... i'm very jealous of this!!!!! i have been through the wars with strats being right handed and having the controls in the way all the time.... very frustrating!!! you cant play a righty les paul being left handed.... it looks Gay!!!!! but there are not many guitarists.... particulary rightys' that play upside down......or have attempted to play upside down because they've never had to??? like, being a left, i started upside down, have always been able to play an upside down guitar because at parties and social getogethers, i always had a right handed guitar..... so anyone else like this or has any views????? |

I am a lefty and I actually love playing left handed. Whats frustrating is the few options for guitars out there. I'm not blind to the fact of the lack of market for it, but its still frustrating. I tried playing right once, but it didn't work out. I have an SG and an American Standard Strat and I'm happy with them. Of course the SG is one of two colors and its not cherry.

Re: Are you al lefty like me???
I'm left-handed and play right-handed. The way I see it, my more dexterous hand (left) is on the more challenging part of playing - hitting the strings and frets. My right hand just has to pick one of six strings to hit, the left can deal with the 144 fret/string options easier.
If that makes any sense.

I'm left handed and though I understand what you're saying about playing right handed, there is no way that I can do it. I bought a right handed guitar years ago and tried it. It was the most awkward feeling. I envy you guys. All those beautiful right handed guitars that line the walls of music shops.
