Celestion T 2876 speakers
There's a 1982 cabinet for sale on eBay with T2876 speakers. The owner insists they're 30 watts but my anecdotal research says they're 80 watts. In fact, it's the exact same cabinet as mine down to the rare Marshall logo backed speakers except mine are T2871.
Can anyone confirm the wattage of T2876? Ken |

Re: Celestion T 2876 speakers
Those speakers are basically Classic Lead 80's. The T2876 is rated for 80 watts.
The cone might have a code of 444, indicating it's a bass cone. Not for bass guitar, but the speaker would have a lower resonance. (I believe Vintage 30's also use a 444 cone?) |

My T2871's are also 80 watts and yes, I have the 444 bass cones. They're wonderful speakers so it's not like that guy needs to pretend they're something else. BTW, what's the difference between T2876 and my T2871's? And I've looked on line quite extensively for a list of T #'s and what they mean but all I can find is the date code list. Any ideas? Tks, Ken |
