- take the chance
- stand up the cab and secure it
- put the cab on it's side and elevate the whole thing
- not play out so you don't have to put up with the abuse and mockery from the full stack owners

If somehow securing yours, I'd love to know how. Thanks.
Ok so you are using a Bassman cab and have it standing or the tall side? I have a 1961 Bassman cab I use for quieter gigs, but I lay it down. What you can do is add four extra feet set to the width of the short side of the cab. Use the stock Marshall feet and you won't devalue the head, plus they will be the same height!
Cheers Bro!

the case works out pretty well because I only have one place to dump all of the crap that's not a cab or an amp, and it has a second use as a cab stand

Re: 2x12 stage setup?

I use a Fender Bassman 2x12 cab with a JCM 800 for my touring rig. I have a case for the head, and place it under the cabinet to raise it off the ground. It works great and I've never had it tip over in 5 years of use. The case is a great thing to have if your head is gonna be moved around a lot, being transported is probably the biggest factor in your amp getting broken. Protect your Marshall and it will treat you right..

No, the cab is handbuilt, and is actually exactly the same size as the jcm head when the cab is on it's side (which was a happy coincidence because I didn't have the head when I built the cab). I've decided for sure to have it on its side, so now it's just a question of best way to elevate. Great idea with the cases.

Jackass, thanks for the tip on protecting the head. And for not actually being a jackass.
