Arrow Putting V30's into an AVT150 combo.

Hi guys I am new to these forums but I think this is the absolutely ideal forum to post this in.
I recently bought a used (but very good condition) Valvestate 2000 AVT150, and am looking to further improve the sound.
The sort of tone I want to achieve is slightly varied, I really love EVH and Satch type of sound, but also am really into Metallica's (especially Ride the Lightning) tone.
So I am thinking of putting a V30 in the combo and taking out the standard Marshall one, as people have told me it will be a big improvement.
Also bought a Tung Sol 12AX7 gold pin tube recently, going to install that in place of the current pre-amp tube.

So I was just wondering do you think this will all work out to improve my tone? Can I put a V30 into my AVT150 easily?

Sorry for the huge wall of text.
