Avatar cabs anyone???

I picked up an Avatar 2x12 loaded with Eminence Legends from Atomic Music here in MD for $175 a few weeks back. Having never heard of Avatar before, I went and checked out their offerings and reviews. After doing so, I realized I got one hell of a deal on this cab (the speakers alone are almost worth what I paid for the cab!!!) I'm pretty sure the reason I got it so cheap was due to the jackass who had it before me decided to put a cheap piece of wood across the opening in the back of the cab and seal it, which I was looking for a closed back cab anyway, so no sweat for me! My 50 watt JMP sounds so good through this thing!!!

Anyone else have experience with these cabs???

I have a 2x12 w/ V30's. It sounds good, but it's a little too resonant when things get chunky. I prefer my 1960a w/ 75's. But both cabs together as a 3/4 stack sound monumentally monstrous.

Re: Avatar cabs anyone???

I'm definitely touting the greatness of these cabs to all my friends. My buddy's band played a gig the other night, and borrowed my cab, and ran his JCM 800 though it. (he blew both the Jensen speakers in the cab that a friend of ours built for him) The damn thing never sounds so sweet and articulate! Funny thing was the guitarist in the band that played after them liked my cab so much he also asked if he could use it...HAHA

I've got a 4x12 Vintage, and 2x12 Traditional open back. Great cabs.

Great cabs that hang with anything out there.

Re: Avatar cabs anyone???

Why isn't Avatar located in Europe? Damn it....
Because of that I had to buy an Orange cab

I wouldn't feel bad about that...my Avatar 2x12 I currently have sounds good but pales in comparison to the Orange 2x12 I used to have. Orange makes the best sounding cabs I've ever heard. I'm still kicking myself for selling that thing
