TSL122 and Marshall 2x12 Cab?

My TSL122 is a 16 ohm 2x12 combo. My cab is a Marshall MC212 2x12 that runs at 8 ohms in stereo, or 4 ohms in mono. Can I run both the combo and this cab together? Here's the back of the combo. It's running at 16 ohms as shown though the dedicated 16 ohm output jack.

If I plug the combo speakers into one of the other outputs and the 2x12 cab through the other, do I set the switch to 4 ohm or 8 ohm? Can it work without problems or issues? Thank you!

Re: TSL122 and Marshall 2x12 Cab?

set the combo to 8ohms, use the internal 16ohms speakers and serial-wire the 2 8ohm speakers of your extension-cab
(then it has 16ohms too).

the original tsl extension is a 16ohms cab with the same speakers in it - a V30 and a greenback; is that right?

Re: TSL122 and Marshall 2x12 Cab?

As stated in the above post, the only way you can properly match the impedance of the amp and both cabs is to re-wire the speakers in the extension cab in series so that the 2 8 ohm speakers combine for a total of 16 ohms. This way you'll have 2 16 ohm cabs, that when plugged into the amp will combine in parallel to equal 8 ohms. Then set the amp for 8 ohms.

If you don't re-wire the 4 ohm extension cab, you cannot match the impedance exactly. The 16 ohm combo cab will combine with the 4 ohm extension cab to equal 3.2 ohms, and your amp doesn't have a setting for that. You might be safe, but there's no guarantee. If you match the impedance, you are safe.
