weels / casters

Hi, I have a "vintage 1960" stero cabinet that I have had for over 10 years.
When I bought it I never had the weels. I am trying to find a set. The sockets take a screw in type weel. about 1/4''. I was looking on Ebay and saw a few sets that looked like they would work but they were around $200. wow. way too much.
Does anyone know where I can get a set for much,,, much... cheaper?
Will any other generic caster work. I cant find any at Home Depo.
Thanks for the help. storrow@bellsouth.net

Re: weels / casters

I found a distributor that was much cheaper and even offered to pay return shipping if they didn't work.

I'm at the office right now and will try to look this up for you later and post a link to them. I THINK THEY WERE LESS THAN 50.00 SHIPPED.

Re: weels / casters

Maybe but that's awfully spendy 21.00 + shipping for each caster x 4 and no return shipping like the other dealer on ebay and his set is less than 40.00 all in.

Re: weels / casters

Hello. I have seen these at Home Depot. I remember seeing casters featuring the hard plastic wheels, the softer plastic wheels, and the ball-type wheel. They also have the three screw and four screw plate. I can't remember what section they were in, but you can ask around. You can also try Lowe's, ACE, and ofcourse the marshall online store

Re: weels / casters

Yes but usually they have to be cut down which is not a big deal and the threads have to be correct, but the benefit of Home Depot is that if they have them they're probably cheaper.

The referral I posted also pays for return postage if they don't work and their prices are for a set of 4 whereas the stores online are per piece which amounts to much more if you need the set.
