Cab ID & Recommendations

I acquired a 2X12 Marshall cab and I was hoping to learn a little more about it and also get a recommendation on what to do with it.

First off, how do I tell around what year it is. The plate on the back says; Ser. No A 11876. The handles are plastic.

Here is a photo of the front.

Here is a photo of the back.

Here is a photo of a signature inside on the bottom.

You'lll notice the back has a cut out on the top. They actaully flipped the back around and then cut off the top.

At one point a head of some sort was mounted inside fastend through the top and it ran to a single 12 in. The other speaker hole was boarded over. A hole was cut in the back for a fan to cool the head.

The head and 12 inch were removed and two Celestian G12M-70's were installed. They are now blown.

My questions are, should I seal the back up completely and what speakers would you suggest i install. I am running a vintage JCM800 2203.

Looking forward to responses. Thanks!
