Quick question?

I have marshall JMP1 going output left and right into G Mjaor out into Marshall el84 20/20 power amp. I have a 1936 cab, is it correct to take the 16ohm out put left and 16 ohm out right into the left and right cab to run in stereo? It sounds amazing, but I dont want to damage the 20/20. Many thanks!

Re: Quick question?

That sounds correct. You've got an EL84 20/20 which is can be thought of as two
independant mono amps. You are plugging it into a 1936, which is two speakers in a box
with seperate inputs. So each EL84 20/20 output should be set for 16 ohm as that
is the impedance of each of the speakers in a 1936 cab.

Also, you may be doing this already, but you can have one speaker as completely dry
and the other as the effected (reverb etc) one.

Nice setup BTW.

Yes, you are correct.

If you think that sounds amazing, try getting another cab so you can use one cab for left, one for right. Separate the two cabs by some distance and the stereo effect will be much more pronounced.

Re: Quick question?

Thank you both for your replys most appreciated, plank badger just currently im running the jmp both left and right outputs into the g major and then left and right outputs into my 20/20.

Regarding your comment about having one speaker as completely dry
and the other as the effected (reverb etc)

In order to do that? Would I take one of the out puts from the jmp straight into the power amp and the other channel through the g major then into my power amp.

Adwex, yeah maybe one day when I can scrape together a few quid, moving house at the moment!

Thanks for your time.

Yes, that would be the best way. Or you could simply tell the G-Major the one side has no effects on. It is possible though that you may want to have effects on both speakers for a kind of special effect, then you've have to go through the G-Major for both.
BTW The Edge has two amps, one for the original signal and one for the delayed signal.
Actually he has two sets of identical amps but that is a different story.
