Re: Which cab
My 6100 is using the blue set and my 6100lm is using my 1960 cab. When I get my JVM410 I want it to have its own cab. But I am not sure I want to go with a 1960 cab. I know very little about cabs. I am branching out. LOL

Re: Which cab
My friend has a JVM410 and he plays thru a 1960AX. Sounds awesome. I tried it with my 1960 BV and it also sounded great. I think you'd be happy with either one, IMO. I don't know anything about the Mustaine cab tho...

Re: Which cab
The Marshall 1960DM Dave Mustaine signature speaker cabinet. Every single piece of the 1960DM speaker cab is cut to size and shape in the Marshall woodshop, useing precision equipment and machinery. Finger joints and specialist wood glue are used to join together the top, base, and side pieces to form the basic cab structure, which is then placed inside a radio frequency press. Clamps within the press ensure that the cab will be square and true while the radio frequencies create strong and durable joints that will stand up to the harshest punishment. Once out of the huge cab cooker and before being hand sanded, the baffle board is fixed into position and hand sealed, giving the 1960DM speaker a more focused, aggressive response when complete. Next stop is the covering dept. where the slate black, carbon fiber effect vinyl covering is applied. This Kevlar- inspired material sets the 1960DM speaker apart from everything else on the market. All covering material is cut to size and shape by hand. The finishing dept.then adds the internal wiring, handles, protective corners, and the diamond punched, steel kick grille- the first to be featured on a full production 1960 speaker cabinet. This is manufactured in-house from mild steel, before being powder coated and fixed into position. A Marshall logo and a special Dave Mustaine signature plaque complete the speaker cab frontage. The speakers are Vintage 70-watt G12-V30 Celestions, after many hours of testing, with each one capable of, delivering thunderous, yet tight and controlled sonics. The hand sealed cabinet back ensures the sound is projected forward, further aiding the tonal response and impact of these mighty 280-watt speaker cabinets. Also receive a product completion certificate, signed by the craftsmen who created the cabinet. Heavy-duty dustcover featuring custom artwork. The above description was taken from the Musicians Friend website Price is 1200 dollars.

Re: Which cab
Thx. I read that online. I wanted to know aside from the "custom" cab is it any different than other marshall cabs. Is the DM any different than the 1960 av/bv?

Re: Which cab
In Dave Mustaine's own words (I saw an interview once): "We basically took the 1960 and bulletproofed it."

Re: Which cab
I've spent the last few weeks researching a cab to get with a JVM410H. I looked at the two you're talking about. As far as I can tell there are very subtle differences between the two.
If you look closely the dimensions for the DM it is slightly different than the 1960. Marshall Amps :: 1960DM Marshall Amps :: Cabinets The DM actually calculates to less cubic cm. Strangely enough the DM weighs more and that could be due to the fact that it has the metal front cover. Personally I ordered the 1960BV because of the price. GC had 15% off trade up and they combo the JVM with the 1960 cabs (not DM however). I must say though I'd be jealous of anyone who got their hands on a JVM410HCF + 1960DM setup, it looks and probably sounds awesome.
