Speaker Identification
Hello, I've recently bought a 1960 cab and I'm wondering what the speakers are. The date stamp indicates they're from 1980 but I can't find a reference to the model number which is T3249.
I'd like to know if I can use a 100 watt amp with this and any advice and any more info about the cab would be most appreciated! Thanks, Andy Last edited by andersh; 03-13-2010 at 07:25 PM. |

Celestion would have made them for marshall and labelled them with marshall for their cabs.

Re: Speaker Identification
If anyone's interested I got this response from Celestion:
According to records the speaker was issued in February 1979 and is a G12-80 in 15ohm and fitted with a tweeter cone to give it more HF extension. The design (but without the tweeter cone) basically became the Classic Lead 80. Typically the extra HF extension was used for keyboard cabs or simple PA and may sound bright for guitar but some people like it. Regards The Doc Sounds like I may be a bit disappointed when I get hold of the cab! |
