Color of Grill cloth... any suggestions?

I have a JCM 800 1982A early 1980's and the original color of the grill cloth is like tabacco due to time i imagine... when i bought it was used it was tinted black... but the job was not well done... incomplete covering... how can i fix that... removing this black tint ( i dont mind the original color )... probably more resale value with this tabaco color... or retint it black... but how... i also have a JCM800 1982B that is all original ( tabacco color )... any suggestions?

I just read somewhere (don't remember what thread) that you can restore the black with the non-liquid black shoe polish very sparingly applied.

I'll go look for that thread and be right back.

ok... that is for retouch only... i need to do full covering... or full removal... any other suggestion...
