marshall 6 x 12? Do they exist?
Yo,
I've been looking for a marshall 6 x 12 guitar cab for quite some time. I've seen them in pictures before but can't seem to find them for sale. Did marshall ever make a 6 x 12 guitar cab or are the one's i've seen just customs? |

Yeah Stryker, my soundguy would have a fit if he saw me wheeling in one of those. I have enough trouble keeping my (2) 2x12's hidden from him as it is. Seems like he's always asking "Did you turn up today?"

Re: marshall 6 x 12? Do they exist?
thanks for all the info guys (and gals maybe?). I wound up not getting the cab cause i found a 1960a for $220 mistagged at guitar center. It was the steal of a lifetime.
SO, with the full stack i didnt feel the need to get this, but if you ever find one or anything, please email me at buckaru978@buckarublvd.com or PM here on this board. Cause i would definetly trade in my set up for it. thanks again, Buck |

Re: marshall 6 x 12? Do they exist?
Sir,
Back in the day marhall only had a couple of choices, a 4x12 cab 6x10s plus combos. We were just kids but had good stuff. The main choice around 1969 if you wanted overdrive, amps did not have it, you did it through bottoms. The 6x10 cab is most famous for Fever Tree's San Fransico nights. Using 50 watt heads you could get 10s to sustain better than 12s. I have wondered many times what happened to those 6x10 cabs. I'd pay more for one of those than any other cab. If you heard the song you heard what the best early overtdrive was. Best of all it was done live, not only studio. Great question and sometimes my age comes in handy. Mike Sicowitz, Milwaukee area, my house is a few miles from the home of Les Paul, another gift to music like Marshall has been. |

There is an 8-10" cab for sale on eBay yesterday
and its already gone, it had the AX type of covering on it. I believe it only sold for $500! the problem was it was a pickup only in Wisconson |

Re: marshall 6 x 12? Do they exist?
Hello all,
Here are a couple of 8 x 10 cabinets in action. This is the very first I've seen (and heard) them, which prompted me to do a Google search and hence, find this forum. I can't tell if they're connected to 100 or 50 watt heads. Perhaps one of the resident experts could determine this. Anyway, here's the always amazing Randy Hansen putting 'em to good use: Stone Free YouTube - Randy Hansen Band - Stone Free Hear My Train A Comin' YouTube - Randy Hansen Band - Hear My Train A Comin' Are You Experienced YouTube - Randy Hansen Band - Are You Experienced One Rainy Wish YouTube - Randy Hansen Band - One Rainy Wish Voodoo Child (Slight Return) YouTube - Randy Hansen Band - Voodoo Child (Slight Return) Regards, Electrix69 ![]() Last edited by Electrix69; 07-13-2008 at 02:41 AM. |

"Wow i almost didnt recognize him,"
Oh well, "time and tide" wait for no one. ![]() "I used to watch Randy play in Sacramento back in the 70's" How would you rate his performances from back then versus his most recent ones? Btw, anyone have any answer(s) regarding his amp/cabinet set-up (if you know)? Regards, Electrix69 |

Re: marshall 6 x 12? Do they exist?
When i used to watch him he still dressed like
Jimi but was a pastey white blond guy back then hahah. Sounds like they are 50 watt amps, and they sound pretty good, almost more authentic. Back in the day he was louder than hell, had lots of stacks like four i believe, he plays about the same. Great stuff, the last time i saw him play he was opening for ZZTop |
