Gonna Go Wireless...

Can ya'll tell me some of the great wireless systems? I don't have a whole bunch of money to spend, and the unit will likely stay at one location (the church I attend) so it doesn't need to be the most durable one on the market. But I need your thoughts on this one. I've never used a wireless system and I don't want to fade out into lala land in the middle of a praise and worship set. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't have a lot of money to spend? Maybe a wireless isn't for you. I bought one for over $200 and it was pure garbage, just SUCKED tone away like it was nothing. Range? Oh yeah, plenty of range, I could walk over 80' away and still be heard, but sounded just as bad as it did from 2' away. I returned it the very next day after I bought it. If you go the cheap route they aren't going to be very good. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't spend less than $500. If you buy one, just make sure you get straight on the return policy so you can take it back if it's a tone sucker. If you aren't that picky about sound, you may not notice.

Re: Gonna Go Wireless...

After researching, I went with the X2 Digital.
Sounds like a cable.
Really.

I'm kinda pissed though, I paid $500 for the rack model, now it's $400.

You'll need alot of these too:

+1

Look into some really nice cables or if you must get the wireless look into the one Adwex suggested. Really though do you want to spend that type of money on a wireless unit? You could buy a lot of other stuff with that much money...

X2 hands down. I've had mine for a year or two now and it's totally bad ass still. $200 at GC for the pedal board model, the XDR95, which is what I use. Seriously, totally awesome wireless.

Yes, the "stomp box" type model is cheaper, and perfect if you have a pedalboard. I have a rack, so I got the rack version.

Yup! Mine sits nicely at the start of my chain, tucked away safely at the top of my pedal board. Looks cool too with the blue lights.

Re: Gonna Go Wireless...

Shit, I recorded the demo on our myspace page with mine. It was easier than running a cable that far.
