It's an attempt to keep us from finding out if Strats are really better than Telecaters, or if Epiphones are really Gibsons.

I do smell a plot...

How come HC doesn't have a section where you can write a review about music sites and forums?

Those Svets are like razor blades to my ears...

At least I like the tones of a couple of the JJ power "valves" they just don't last very long.

Re: OK, which one of you hacked HC?

They found the problem. A young squirrel thought it was eating it's nuts, but instead chewed through the main terminal wires.

Re: OK, which one of you hacked HC?

That would be painful. I could only get one good chomp on my nuts before I would have to stop. Too sensitive, I guess.

Actually the final diagnosis was a faulty AB switch, but they couldn't figure it out cause it was too complicated.

Re: OK, which one of you hacked HC?

with all the talk about the mg fans. i thought that the cooling fan went out and it burnt up the board. but now that i think about it, the faulty a/b switch does sound pretty good.

I actually heard they had run the 8 ohm setting into the 16 ohm cab.

Sort of right...it was that and they found out that the output transformer was being worked too hard because it had Sovtek KT88s and it was an ultra-linear transformer from a Marshall Major, which are crappy.

No, No, No.....I've just been handed the answer by HC's brass: They ran the head without a load.

Actually, they just released the memo that it was a Groove Tubes E34Ls and it took the transformer with it when it fried.
