Good grief...I might have to bring a family court judge in here as moderator.

Frankie, I think nowadays if you take their toys away, then they go to school and state that you beat on them. It's scary. I was married to number 2 and she had two kids. The boy was the oldest. We were living in Phoenix and by the time he got in the sixth grade he was a load. All these other kids telling him how to get around shit by making threats to me. Hell, I had to go to his school and talk to his counselor to give her a "heads up" on this.

After I split with his mom, he became really violent. Then he went in the Army and is a sharpshooter now. How freaky is that? Makes you think twice about taking their toys away.

I have tried everything in the book but my mom doesnt care. I dont have a problem with the way I dress, I get to do that how I want. There is just something that my mom hates about long hair and I also would like to have it at least once before I am old and gray too. My dad said he doesnt care if I do though so I still have some hope. I would never tell people that my mom was beating me though, thats just uncalled for really.

Well, once you turn 18 hopefully you can choose the way you want to look, lol. I don't know, at the end of the day it's their house and they are your parents. They obviously don't think your intentions are right for growing it out. As far as school is considered many people don't like the look and they accuse you of being a druggie etc...

That's just Hollywood bulls**t from some Hugh Grant movie that rarely if ever happens in real life.

5. Talking to chicks isn't necesserally hard. For me, it was just the act of starting a conversation with *anyone* that was hard. I started talking to everybody, not just chicks. Gradually I got the hang of getting a conversation started and THEN moved on to applying that to talking to women.

6. Don't see women as princesses or godesses or something like that. Don't put them on a piedestahl. Just treat them as normal human beings. If she likes you she will like you even if you don't buy her expensive s**t and if she doesn't like you she won't be persuaded. The only thing you'll accomplish is losing amp money.

Here's some more info about me. I've been a crack shot ever since I was 14. In basic training, I took third place out of 414 soldiers shooting on the range that day. They asked if I wanted to become a sniper? I told them, "No." (I'm not into drinking my own piss.)

Over the years, I have won several pistol competitions. I currently have 86 weapons, including SKS's, AK-47's, Russian ROMAK Sniper rifle, M16 clones, and a wide assortment of shotguns and 22's.

I have had a concealed weapons permit in three states and currently have one for the state of Kansas.

I'm older now. I know my limits (says Clint Eastwood). If I get in a hostile situation, or if someone tries to rob me...good fucking luck. I'll put one in your head.

Another tip; don’t convince yourself that something is there when it isn’t.

When I was younger, I got interested in this girl. Whenever she said something to me or sort of looked at me, I interpreted it as she was interested. I was never really sure though but kept trying to convince myself that she really was into me. In retrospect, after having been around the block a time or two, I can see that there was practically no interest at all from her side.

Oh and now a boring one.
When you’re young, looks are important. Sure, it’s important that you’re attracted to a potential girlfriend (otherwise the whole thing will go down the tubes) but even if she looks like Megan Fox, if she is a class A beeootch or is as intelligent as a wet rock, it WILL bother you beyond belief.

One more.
Find a chick that shares your interests, at least some of them. In the beginning, most of the time you’ll be making out so it doesn’t matter but after a while, as the novelty wears off, you’ll want to do other things and some chicks find it boring to just watch tv every night.

The next one sort of ties in with the previous one.
Find a woman that has her own interests as well. Trust me, this is important. As a guy, sometimes you will want to do “your own thing”. I don’t mean banging hot groupies either, just hanging out with the guys or play x-box or whatever, you know stuff she is not into. If she has no interests of her own she can do when you’re busy doing “your thing” then she will soon start interfering with your thing, trying to limit that time so you’ll hang with her.

Let’s see what else…
Oh, don’t sweat it about what to do on dates. The way you should look at it is, do something you yourself want to do, whether it’s going out to see a movie or a band or just lunch and invite her to come along. If you can’t think of anything else, just go for a coffee or something like that. Asking a chick to dinner and a movie can seem too much, too formal, especially if she doesn’t know you that well. Something informal in the afternoon (in the middle of the week, as the weekend is “date night”, again too formal) takes the pressure off. A coffee date also let’s you (and her) have an easy way out if it turns out she’s a psycho or something. It’s also cheap, which leaves more amp money.

Finally, for your and the girls’ sake, be clear with what you want. If you just want to have a short, no strings attached thing-go ahead. If you want a relationship-go ahead. But don’t go lying about wanting a relationship to some chick when all you want to do is get some quick action and move on.

Oh, and don’t hit on multiple girls in the same group of friends. You’ll be labeled as “the desperate dude” faster than Yngie Malmsteen can play 16th notes.

I live in the south. The cops basically go by the old no bruises, no care law. Seriously, my buddy's son tried that, the cops showed up, he said, "Yeah, I slapped him for being disrespectful." The cops were like, "Well, you don't have any marks on you son, better wise up to your father," and split. They don't put up with that snot nosed brat crap down here, and can tell when a kid is full of sh*t.

I'll never think twice about taking the kids' toys away. That's the problem with kids these days as it is, parents are scared to parent them. My mother and father weren't scared to parent me, and when I cut up in school or at home I got an old fashioned whooping (usually with a wooden kitchen utensil as I'm Italian), and regularly took away my video games and electronics. On the flip side of the coin, my parents had no problem with letting me dress the way I wanted, as long as I wasn't turning into a bum.

Now at 27 I'm a computer engineer making decent money (to seemingly spend on gear, damn GAS!), supporting 2 kids and a wife, and playing in a pretty popular "regional act." I might be a tattooed up rock and roller, but I think I turned out okay.

I guess my point is that the OP has to respect his parents wishes about the long hair until he moves out. I know all you young guys are gonna call me grandpa, but that's just how it goes. They're spending a lot of time, effort, energy, and money to raise you, the least you can do is get a damn haircut if that's all they want in return. Oh, and FWIW, when I had long hair I got a lot of fat chicks hitting on me. Now that I keep it short and tight, the hotties are interested. Granted I'm married so it's a moot point, but you youngsters aren't. Get a damn haircut!

'Cause it's a stereotype and your 'rents don't want people who don't know you as a person to automatically assume you're up to no good. Besides, it reflects poorly on them if other parents look at you condescendingly. I had the same situation, got to college, grew it out, cut it once to get my current job and voila it's long again.

One thing though, if/when you go bald...cut it. No one looks good with the Hulk Hogan horseshoe ponytail...no one.

All way around for me man, I get all the slim drug dealer chicks at school lol. There is actually this one chick that is kinda emo and shit, and listens to all this terrible bands, shes not HOT, but I would still tap her. So this is my last year at school, and my dad wants me to move out by the age of 18. And theres only 11 months left. My dad doesnt make that much money, so he gets a little bit of help from the government. But when I turn 18 we wont have that anymore, UNLESS I keep studying right after I leave high school and I go to collegue to be a sound technician. Unfortunately theres no places here in ottawa to be a sound technician, I would have to go to toronto. And I would also need some kind of scholarship. AS if that wasnt enough, Im also gonna have to give around 300 bucks every month to my dad to pay for the rent and food. Now, how the fuck am I gonna be able to do that?

When I graduated from HS, I was only seventeen. I lied about my age to get a job. I was a real good welder, started welding when I was 11. I made good money welding and I was out of my mom's house. I later went to work on a big bridge in Texas. I've been actually on my own since I was 16. However, by the time I was 19 (1974) the economy was as bad as it is now. That's why I joined the service. When I got out, the economy was still bad, but it was getting better. I had a union job waiting on me after I got out of the service and it paid really well.

You are going to have to get some sort of college grant and a scholarship. Are you good enough to play in a stage or jazz band at the college or university? That's what I did and I got a fat music scholarship for every semester.

'Cause it's a stereotype and your 'rents don't want people who don't know you as a person to automatically assume you're up to no good. Besides, it reflects poorly on them if other parents look at you condescendingly. I had the same situation, got to college, grew it out, cut it once to get my current job and voila it's long again. I lied about my age to get a job. I was a real good welder, started welding when I was 11. I made good money welding and I was out of my mom's house. I later went to work on a big bridge in Texas. I've been actually on my own since I was 16. However, by the time I was 19 (1974) the economy was as bad as it is now. That's why I joined the service. When I got out, the economy was still bad, but it was getting better. I had a union job waiting on me after I got out of the service and it paid really well. You are going to have to get some sort of college grant and a scholarship. Are you good enough to play in a stage or jazz band at the college or university? Right now I am in the arts program of my school studying Percussion, so like xylophone, timpany, all the percussion instruments. But im sick of it, I cant stand it anymore. Im quitting this week. I have been in it for a year, and im sick tyll my brain. I dont really know what to do. Seriously, today was a bad day, everything I heard were bad news. Except my paycheck.
