You know, I'll admit I'm older than most here on the forum. I like to think that I am up on a lot of stuff for someone as old as myself.

However, what really blows my mind is when someone starts a thread and they say, "Noob here." "Kinda a noob." "Sorry, I'm a noob."

NOOB!!!

Good grief! Why would someone admit to that? I want some of the younger guys to respond. Is it just something that I should overlook? I mean why would you say, "I'm totally ignorant about everything and I'm sorta a noob." When I see that and they are asking for help, I usually just pass, unless I need to give the poor noob CPR.

Fill me in on this "noob" shit. Personally I think it is demeaning one's own character. "I don't care what people say, I'm a noob."

Damn! I'm glad that I'm not a noob.

I think it's like an excuse for failure.

Kinda like that whole 'no offence' thing, you can just say something completely stupid, but follow it with "Idk, I'm just a noob" and get off scott free.

Nah I think its just a tiresome term that means "I know little and go easy on me when I ask this question..."

Its used on every forum so we see it alot. I've been called it by fellow forumites who don't realize I would knock them out if I was in front of them for taking that tone with me.

Its safe behind the keyboard of insults.

HCAF has so many retarded catch phrases and terms according to Wikipedia they have their own language.

i guess the secret is out, yes i am a noob. i am so much a noob, that i didnt even know what the hell l33t was. and the pathetic thing is i actually tryed to look up the meaning to the damn thing and it directed me to a web site called the plastic nipple. do i know what i am doing? do i know what i am reading? do i know what i am saying? WITH THIS BEING SAID. YET AGAIN I WILL SAY, I AM A NOOB.

The one I hate the most is "pwnage"..or "pwned". It became internet slang because of a common typo..."p" instead of "o". Friggin' kids these days can't take the time to spell correctly. Maybe they don't know about the backspace key.
