Wonder what we would hear if we could listen to the rationals of certain decisions being made.

Re: i dont know what to call this thread, sorry

Not a fan of either, although I often do listen to Alex Jones' show.

Billy Corgan however does point out a lot of things which are correct.
A great shame that Frank Zappa cannot show up anymore.
Oh wait, not necessary. Just put on one of his old albums (We're only in it for the money) and hear how he pointed out these issues back in 68, when I wasn't even born yet.

Interesting interview however, thanks for sharing.

Maybe it wasn't the chair itself but rather an, ehm, inconvenience.

Re: i dont know what to call this thread, sorry

its nothing new to you CR.

but billy's central theme is dont be afraid to talk about uncomfortable stuff, dont be afraid to consider ideas that may seem far out at first. as it is "vigorous discussion" that is at the core of being an informed person.

lots of corporate/political examples. corgans seems pretty level headed about a lot of it.

i posted it up in hopes of reaching some of those who still shun the idea of anything other than the mainstream propaganda about what it means to live in and be an american (or a citizen of any "free" western type nation) in this day and age.

but it is an interesting interview, even if its nothing new to you.

Want a good slap in the face? I'm not going to post the video here (it'll spark absolute outrage w/debate), but look up:

"The Complete and Undeniable Truth - Larken Rose" (can be found on youtube)

Now, I don't agree w/everything he says in the video, but he's absolutely right on a good deal of it ... while uncomfortable to watch (because it's applicable to most of us in many ways), it's something I think is helpful in taking personal inventory on how we've been leading our lives to some degree. Like I said, it's a good slap in the face.

Sometimes we need a good slap in the face to "snap out of it".
To shake up. Not necessaily VIOLENTLY, but like you said... A slap in the face.

I'll search for that vid when I get home.

For sure, man ... and I'll admit to having been slapped by the video ... I'm absolutely guilty of some of the things he says ... hell, we all are ... and that's why it's so uncomfortable to watch. One of the best videos I've watched in a long time.

Re: i dont know what to call this thread, sorry

i'll def check it out CR. thanks!

when i watched the corgan interview, it reminded me of how things spun out of control around here. the anger and backlash that came from trying to have uncomfortable discussion.

and everytime i started losing interest, and was about to turn it off, he would make another excellent observation and suck me back in. there are some great points of discussion all the way thru imo.

Totally not into BC or Smashing Pumpkins, so I was hesitant only cause I had no desire to hear what he had to say. But ****, this dude sure knows whats going, very level headed and aware.

Good video for sure, thanks Scat!

I love Smashing Pumpkins, and I like Corgan.

I like Corgan in smallish doses though. He is a very active thinker though and I appreciate that.

Thanks for posting scat!

Thing is the internet has been around rigidly for like 7 years - I mean in its mass development i.e. youtube, facebook, twitter, ebay etc.. the BOOM if you like - we're all on here now in the West..

And yet -

We've had loads of zeitgeist videos and documentaries and conspiracies uncovered.. and perhaps we're still not 'awakening' ...

Civilization is the progress toward a society of privacy. The savage's whole existence is public, ruled by the laws of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men.

Every aspect of Western culture needs a new code of ethics - a rational ethics - as a precondition of rebirth.

we are not yet at the tipping point, but certainly there are more ordinary people asking hard questions than there were 10 or 20 yrs ago, i think thats a positive development.

I think the world as a whole requires the above, not just any one specific culture.

But I think the west in some aspects is more twisted. There are some eastern philosophies that are very grounded, in touch with reality.
