A very nice landscape.

Its dangerous to drive on the wrong side of the road around a bend like that though.

Nice looking spot. Nothing like a northern prairie sunset. You probably have some monster pike in that lake? We'll have to compare fish...except I didn't have a camera with me this morning. Got a nice Muskie this morning by surprise.

It is incredibly beautiful and very peaceful. Zero crime in many areas like you see there as well. Even in larger cities like Toronto crime is pretty minimal, petty stuff but no shootings and stuff like that...very safe.

Places like you see above and even nicer are pretty much endless throughout Canada from coast to coast.

Only thing that sucks is that we don't have any one place that is always sunny like the southern US, on the other hand we also do not have natural disasters either so a fair trade.

I'm a boater myself, NOTHING like a great sunset from the boat, the colors reflect every where! So peaceful on the water at that time.

Looks like a great time on that lake! I've never been to Canada, watch fishing shows and it always looks spectacular.

Congrats!

Damn, that's pretty as well. I'm going to have to take some sunset shots when the weather clears up. Thanks for the inspiration, guys!

Re: The majestic northern Saskatchewan , Canada !!

we head up to northern maine every couple or few years. in many ways its like going back in time a few decades.

although even up there, time and technology march on, the culture is still very much rural, everyone knows everyone, no need to lock your doors at night kind of atmosphere. and the view of the night sky is stunning without city lights polluting it.

i have some beautiful sunrise and sunset pics from a few years ago on the lake.

That's a nice compliment for our country Wiseblood. Unfortunately it isn't true about our cities. I guess the news about the mass shooting at a block party in toronto last week didn't make your news. The same senseless kind of violence that hit Colorado. Big cities in Canada have the same crime, gang, and violence problem that they do in the US and most countries unfortunately. Murders are rampant here too. Thankfully we do have places like northern Saskatchewan where Hottubes is, and it's nice where I am too. I could never live in a city again. I need places like this.

What I meant was, in small towns crime is to a minimum, very rarely do I hear about shootings.

In cities, shootings/murders are still far less when compared to an equivalent city in the US (for example).

I did hear about the mentioned shooting but that is an extremely rare occurrence.

Yes , there is little to no crime at Candle lake SK. , no murders to my knowledge ever ...
As i'm typing this i'm thinking of the families and victims of the shootings in Aurora , Colorado !! That is just terrible news !!

Not really Poeman , i think the largest that i have heard of was about 30lbs !!
as you know , they get alot bigger than that , but not in this lake , Candle Lake is more known for its recreation than fishing . ( more of a Walleye lake !!)

The lake is not that big , and has several very shallow , sand bottom bays , that make it perfect for summer fun etc !!

Many times as a kid , i have seen the water temps on the fish finder's reach 80 deg.s in the shallow bays !

Sounds good. The water here is really warm. Great for swimming, but the fish have done deep. And the lack of cold and ice this past winter has meant that the weeds are everywhere...even in the deep water. It's probably better fishing on the lake in my town...but this lake is better known for it. This morning, I wasn't even trying for Muskie, because they have to be so big to keep this year (minimum 44 inches). I don't keep them anyway...but just in case you get one and it won't revive...

I got about a 3 footer this morning at around 6am. I was hoping it was a big bass...until it got near the canoe and just started screaming out the drag and I knew it had to be a big Muskie. I didn't have a leader, and just as I got him back to the canoe, he started rolling in the line and biting it. He bit through the line clean...taking my brand new $10 twitch bait with him. I had the plyers ready and everything to quickly let him go. Oh well...it was very cool entertainment. I think he will throw that hook in no time and be fine. I haven't caught much this week...and all small ones...but it's been fun. The little girls on the pier are outfishing me. There is nothing like a little lake recreation to get your brain back in focus. It's pretty hard to be creative when you so stressed about life. My wife has done a couple really nice paintings too. And then there is the wild cabin sex...oops...that doesn't happen at all with us musicians does it HotTubes...hehe

I love places like that. That's what the northern forests and lakes are like.
Like the lake where I often go to in Denmark.

Gr,

Gerrit.

*And there's so many similar places in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Russia and obviously also Canada...

Awesome shots HT.You could really get your thoughts together in that kind of peacefull enviroment.I can also see how a great song writer (story teller) could really get the creative jucies flowing in places like that.ie John Denver-James Taylor etc etc.
