So Cal Humidity

Yesterday it was extremely humid. It was also sprinkling on me, when I did my 5 mile walk. Last night it rained. It is very humid here today. I hope it stays somewhat overcast when I go walk today. The only plus is the way the girls dress for this kind of weather. So far this summer is has been pretty nice here so far. It is not very hot out where I'm at. It feels like beach weather.

Re: So Cal Humidity

I love SO Cal. Spent 2 weeks in San Diego and Las Angeles in March-April this Spring.

5 miles is a good walk. I run 1.5 - 2.5 miles three times a week but it has to be early (0600L HRS) this time of year here in Southwest Indiana. Hope you have a great workout.

I live in Florida...enough said!

Actually this year we've had it good compared to other places, but usually I laugh when someone complains about humidity. I feel for you, bro.

Re: So Cal Humidity

I thought it was ironic that today is Friday the 13th and with the morning drizzle that we had, there were a bunch of car accidents on the news from the slick roads.
I guess it really was a bad luck day for some.

Yea, now my friends are all complaining about the humidity.

I am originally from NJ and grew up with this...all...summer...long...
These guys are whining like it is the end of the world...

I remember back there I used to have to readjust my truss rod all the time (or at least every season), because the humidity in the summer and cold dry in the winter would really mess with things.
I didn't have any air conditioning in the house, so my poor guitars took a beating.
It got to where I didn't even put the truss rod cover back on, because I had to adjust it so much.
Eventually I lost most of the covers...

Whew, Deep Georgia and Mid Florida with all that veg. Hot and sticky like rock candy baby!! lol.

Guess I should not complain as we need rain here in Indiana. In 48 years I can not remember a DRY Summer like this.

Never had a problem with humidity until I moved to the Black Hills 1983-1987 where there really is none. I returned to Indiana and the humidity became very noticeable.

Re: So Cal Humidity

About 8 years ago, I was in Palmdale, CA. There had been a thunderstorm over in LA. The front desk lady at the hotel was weezing and complaining about the 12% humidity! I'm from Virginia (Hampton Roads area) and it was all I could do to keep from laughing. I know that when you are acclimated to a certain climate, when things change drastically, it gets uncomfortable but that was funny. We are accustomed to 98 to 105 deg and 95 to 100% humidity through most of the summer!

You should see when we come east and it is "cold" out.

If it is 50-60 out, I am freezing and bundled up like an eskimo, while the locals are wearing shorts and bragging about how warm it is.

Luckily we had that tropical storm that dumped a lot of rain and since then we've had afternoon storm and lots more rain. (I only say luckily because where I'm at we just got rain and not all the damage they had in other places) we haven't had the drought like most of the country seems to be in.

Dirty Steve, I got relatives in Tampa and, I know what you mean about humidity over there! I lived in Greenpoint Brooklyn from 1963-69 and, I do miss the changing of the seasons. Over here in order to see snow we got to go to the mountains. Upstate New York is pretty nice from what I remember visiting as a kid. My favorite places in Florida are Key West and Miami.

The key is to have that choice as you do, to choose to drive to the snow vs getting hammered by snow for months at a time lol. I hate snow.
