"Likes" Are gone.

ALL trace of "likes" are missing for me. Missing from the threads, Profile Stats etc.

Anyone else notice this?
Have we ditched the Like system and is that what yesterday's service losses were about?

Yes I see now that others reported this in the thread about the forum being down.

I have a like/dislike relationship with the likes. But mostly like likes.

Likes - are handy to know that somebody responded to a post - so you can "banter" and track the conversation easier

They have 2 purposes - ego boost - and - track and banter

Ther should be a dislike option, and for that there should be a like a meter measuring how many dislikes you get in a post. When it gets to a certain number of dislikes, the meter goes into the red zone.

And there should be all sorts of alarms and alerts and pop ups emphasizing on how people dislike what you say.

I am pretty sure in the past year and a half this happened before. I may be wrong but there were network issues, then the "Likes" took a while to be recovered. Can anyone say for sure what is going on? Crossroads?

Agreed, it aided in common ground communication and prompted more postings IMO. At least it affected me that way.

I agree ... while there are the exceptions to every rule, most people feel good when someone "likes" their comment ... and I can't help but think that it makes some of the posts more creative when there's a "like" carrot hanging out there.

True, and it definitely cultivates more interaction.
People see the notification then follow it back to the thread and reengage in the new posts, whereas without the notification they may have missed the new interactions and not participated further.
