My female friend whom I chill with everyday asked me what I was going to do with my future music degree. I told her that I was going to get a masters and then a phd in music or something like that. Then she says "why would u get a degree in guitar? Like I understand a phd in physics because it actually helps humanity and they do real things. But a phd in music? Nobody cares if you can play Bach." I tried to explain her that people spend a life time learning how to write like Bach because what he did was ****ing intense. Four part fugues? and one guy playing all of it with an organ? Then I had to explain her that thanks to someone that studied music, and wrote a melody that she heard at ****ing club, helped her get laid when she started grinding some guys cock. Bach and more people took the effort to find what got people in a good mood.

Then I basically had to explain her that all the producers that write songs for famous artists actually went to school for music to understand certain progressions and "tricks" that people like. Basically becoming a producer means knowing what people like and understanding what sounds please most ears. She kept insisting that nobody cares, and she`s going to become a CEO because she just wants money and walk down the streets saying "Bitchez, im independent" (exact quote)

Talk what you will about the old west being violent, but when you got caught doing something stupid, you got shot. Things like that tend to RAISE the collective IQ of people, because they realize "Hey, if I do this, I'm going to get shot. Let me NOT do that..." And behavior improves all across the board. For a long time, the ENTIRE WORLD knew not to f*** with American directly because we let our citizens carry weapons legally and that to attack our lands would be just f***ing stupid. But oh no, guns kill people, right? I've heard of a lot more people dying in vehicular "accidents." I don't see stupid people up on capitol hill crying about how we should ban cars and trucks and SUVs because they kill people...

In my humble opinion, I think we find more kids not giving a damn because people are slowly becoming more and more self-centered. Society is becoming more self-centered. When you're self-centered, it's easy to say things like "no one cares" and "that's gay." You can freely express your opinion, which can easily be based on no experience or research, because you can "do what you want, bitches" because society has failed to knock you on your ass, rub your face in your mess, and put you in your place. We don't do a good enough job knocking people down a notch when they screw up or disrespect. There are plenty of reasons and no one person is to blame, but we're all to blame. From business owners fearing litigation to parents who will not get involved and hold their children accountable, we're starting to fail youngsters. If we just let them go, and buy them smartphones where they can spend hours in self-indulgence every day while ignoring everyone around them, we sould be prepared for more of the same.

I went out for a friend's college graduation and the entire party went outside to smoke leaving myself and one other guy alone at the table as the only non-smokers. This guy had a smartphone, and his eyes never left it. They took at least a 10 minute smoke break, and neither of us spoke a word. He never put the phone down. I was blown away. I found it rude as hell. He probably didn't think a thing of it. He's a few years younger than myself, but not that much younger. A fine example of how we retreat into ourselves through technology.

I remember talking about "the man" in high school. I'm 26 and am now "the man." I'm a probation officer. It doesn't seem that way, but a lot of people look at me as an authoirty figure and associate me with law enforcement, but nothing could be further from the truth.

I have the good fortune and opportunity to interact with CEO's on a pretty regular basis.....and for what its worth, as you might imagine, I cannot recall any of them using the word, "Bitchez".
