Drummer's Wife answers ad- he doesn't speak English

So what would you all do? My first thought was get off the phone...but I liked the links he sent and was glad to have been contacted...had to talk to his wife just to get to know his situation. I was interested but ultimately decided against an audition simply on the uncomfortable communication issue, but told the wife that I'd like to meet them in person in the next few weeks and maybe just see what if...their songs were some English, some Russian and I just figured that the guy lives here, he must speak English...

hey bro I was in the same situation :P Except I was the drummer and I couldnt speak english, the guyz just linked me to songs they went 1 2 3 4 and I knew what to do :P

I don't see how a band can function without clear and easy communication between members. There's a lot of talking during rehearsals.

drummers are hard to find. if he rules go for it. generally drummers are retarded so you will probably end up making him flash cards no matter what he speaks so I say jam with him. Plus it gives you a reason to get close with his wife already. Rock on guys.

Might be tough but not impossible. The language pf Rock n Roll is universal, lay down a nice chunky progression and see what he has and if you can follow you. What the hell you need to tell a drummer anyways, talk to him making drum sounds from your mouth.

Just pin a note to his chest telling him what time is the next practice. Seriously if he's good I don't think it will be a big deal. I think I could jam and play with a Russian band, rock is rock.

My drummer is Slovakian, he's the real John Bonham. You'd be surprized at some of the talent that can come out of Europe. At least your one comes with a translater,
