Re: Picture of yourself...

5/502 Infantry, I was there from 86-89.

Our Battalion commander called it a 101st detachment, still don't know what that means.
They sent me to Bravo 5/502 for 1 and a half years then I went to CSC 5/502 for the rest.

Berlin, I ended up doing wall patrol and train on urban warfare.
No more jumps, sucks, but that is where I bought my Silver Jubilee so that's not so bad.

On jump week in I did an improper plf on my 5th qualifying jump and broke 2 bones in my ankle. It was the only one we did at night with full ruck. It happened so fast. I passed because I was "technically" able to maneuver and fire my weapon so I got my wings but they did not want me to jump again.

They sent me to Bravo 5/502 for 1 and a half years then I went to CSC 5/502 for the rest of my time which was pretty cool. I did love it, almost re-enlisted but thought there might be other things I wanted to do before it was too late.

My before and after pics were in Ft. Benning when I thought I was on my way to an airborne unit. I regret not having more pictures from those days. I thought the leg cast would be an appropriate response for a military nurse.

Can't resist, here is another:

Even in Berlin I managed to be in a band and I don't know how it happened but not for very long though, maybe 6 months or so whenever we weren't in the field or doing inspection or whatever.
There's my Goldtop "Delux" as Adwex calles it. And on the right I'm wearing my my PT sweats with the Eagle talon playing a borrowed Ibanez.

For some reason we could never look like rock stars, must be the haircut, not sure though.

Re: Picture of yourself...

I'll have to see if I can come up with any pics from back then to scan in and post. I think my parents actually have most of them. I was mostly into playing guitar with my band and drinking back then. didn't focus on taking pictures...but I should have

I ended up getting in with a pretty cool band (all civilians) and we played some good gigs outside of Ft Campbell and around the Nashville area. But...like you...never could look like a rock star....definately the haircut. Funny thing is, I had so much hair when I showed up to Benning in '87 that the barber called me Jesus. They took care of the rockstar look real quick.

how I got my user name? Couldn't think of one when I joined some guitar forums about 5-6 years ago. There is masterbuilder at Fender who goes by Red Dave, and a good friend of mine said why not Gray Dane. After we laughed it stuck so that's how I got it.

Picture of self?? LOL. I have no shame so I'm up for it.
The guitar I'm using is my 1966 335. Most treasured guitar.

My go-to guitar though is my Fender Strat.

Looking for (playing) Rambo in the desert as an 11 Hotel Echo Niner, 4th Division Mechanized.

Today, noodling on one of my small practice setups.

Here's a post that I made on another thread that may help...

1st: I like to upload my gear pics right to my Marshall forum profile (you can create an album)(I think it's simpler this way). You can see mine at Marshall Amp Forum - joshuaaewallen's Albums. When you do this, each picture in your album has it's own URL (web address).

2nd: Create a post or thread.

3rd: Write what you want in your post. Wherever you would like a picture to appear in your post click on the symbol above the text window that looks like a post card.

This pops up a window asking for a URL for the picture you want to paste. Now simply paste the URL from the picture you want to post onto the box and click 'ok'.

4th: Enjoy your expert quality post.

Ok... So this post isn't 'expert' by any means, but... Hopefully it helps. Lemme know if you need more help...

Is there another way? Some forums let you just browse your PC and upload. I may want to post a pic now & then thats NOT in my album. Also if later I remove it from my album, I think that'll make the same pic dissapear from the thread. Im not crazy about URL-hosting sites like Photobucket, because you relinquish any rights to your photos. But I already have some photos on MySpace with URLs, Ok so why didnt the link to those work?

Sorry mate. When posting, the posting tools don't let you directly upload or even cut and paste pics into your post. The pics have to be uploaded to either an album in your Marshall Forum profile, or to anther online site such as Webshots (here's the webshots page that I frequently use... jaewa's photos and albums on webshots)
