I wouldn't call the tone transparent, but the slight coloring it adds is pleasing (at least to me).
The fix for the V30's is to mix them with another model speaker that dosen't cover the same sonic emphasis as the V30.
The cab's tone is not bass or treble heavy, I would say more of a vintage rock sound to early NWOBHM-definately not the "Mesa" sound.
