Hey, thanks for the replies and the welcome to Marshallforum!
I started running my amp that way after I teched for a touring rock band once. The guitar player insisted I hooked up his Marshall (rental of course) with the impedence selector at 4 ohms and output leads to 2 cabs in the 4 ohm jack. He insisted it sounded better that way...It just dawned on me that hey the amps were rentals - who cares if they get smoked? (o;
I've tested both 16 and 4 ohm jacks on the cab for tone and maybe it's just me but I think it sounds better at 4 ohms. Do I need to get an amp tech to redo the 16 ohm switch?
