Re: 1960a or MG412A or MC412

I'm going to step in here for a second. I own 4 MG 412's and 4 1960's. They're different animals for sure, but for the money the MG's sound a hell of a lot better than Line 6, Behringer, or even Fender for that matter. They are particleboard, yes. They're made in Korea and Vietnam, not England, but they do a good job. I used the MG's with my 3210 heads, and it sounds pretty damn good. They are smaller than 1960's. and are better suited for solid state heads or modelers, not tube heads. They are also a HELL of a lot lighter too. The MC cabs are machine cut, but made in England with no real dressing to them...piping, etc. So they're kinda in between. By the way, I paid 185 for each MG head here in Chicago at Guitar Center...yes, Guitar Center new. You just have to wait til the end of the month.

Your choice of cab depends on the amp, period. By the way, if you have an Ampeg with the newer logo; the ones designed for use with the Lee Jackson designed Ampeg's, I"d keep that cab. Those sound great!
