Paramedic, give it some time. As you play with it and learn to dial it in, you'll find that each channel has something to offer (except Ultra II maybe). The Classic crunch mode is useful for getting more breakup when you can't crank the clean up that loud. I can make the Ultra I channel sound a lot like my friend's 1987 clone by backing off the gain, turning up the master, and tweaking the tone controls for a little less treble.
