I find the Crunch/Lead channel to be a little muddy. I'm not a big fan of that one either. The classic one can sound pretty good with some pedals and/or a boost. I was going to throw in some KT77's in there and maybe change the transformer like some do to get different tones but I'm just going to leave it stock since I've got a pair of 800's. Trying to trade my DSL100 with another fellow on here for a 900 SL-X.
I just don't need diversity in an amp is all. The DSL is a fine amp just not my style anymore.

Transformers inside amplifiers were not originally designed to be in there, and the tube was not created for the guitar amp.
ANY recommended idle current is a guideline and in no way a necessary requirement. There is no skeleton key for any tube amp.
