The size of the head box was the same from '72 on, although just like the metal panels being released in late '69 I'm sure they began rolling out the standard head box size on 50 watters as early as late '71. Only on the pre-'71/'72 50 watters did they use the "small box" head cabinets. The 50 watters however did not have the top vent on the head cab that was standard on the 100 watters.

S/A5541C

S/A = 50 Watt

C = 1971

5541 - Serial Number

If it were a 100 watter, the first two letters would be SL/A rather than S/A.
